My goal is to provide high quality non-judgemental, practical and individualised breastfeeding and lactation support that helps families to meet their feeding goals. In York, Leeds, Harrogate and surrounding areas.
I qualified as a midwife with a First Class Honours Degree in 2013, and have worked as an NHS midwife in Leeds for over 10 years, primarily in the community where I have had the privilege of caring for countless families in their own homes following the birth of their babies.
I now work as an Infant Feeding Midwife and completed a Masters Level qualification in Frenulotomy (Tongue Tie) in 2022. In 2023 I completed over 100 hours of lactation specific education via The Centre for Breastfeeding Education and Research.
I have four children of my own and have faced my own feeding challenges along the way - ranging from a feeding journey which was cut very short (6 weeks) due to lack of support and low milk supply, through to weaning my youngest in her fourth year and most things between!
In my private breastfeeding support role my aim is to work with you in a collaborative way to face any challenges you encounter as you and your baby go on your individual feeding journey.
Breastfeeding should not be painful. When feeding hurts it can be a sign that something isn't quite right. There are a number of solutions from skilled support with position and attachment to diagnosis of a tongue tie.
Worrying that your baby is not getting enough milk can be very stressful, as can slow weight gain or having an unsettled baby. Feeding plans that aim to increase stimulation of the breasts and therefore milk supply are often needed. Skilled support and can provide reassurance.
In early parenthood everything about having a new baby can feel daunting. Breastfeeding is a new skill and it can take some getting used to. Responsive feeding (feeding when baby shows cues or when mum's breasts feel full) is advantageous for both but it is still easy to worry - Am I feeding enough? Why has my baby been cluster feeding? Is it normal for her to be awake all day? Combine that with the logistics of feeding baby out and about and sleep deprivation it is understandable that anxiety can occur. Things that get your oxytocin flowing such as cuddles with your baby and time with those you love can help. Talking it through with someone with time to listen can also be useful.
Baby coming on and off the breast at the start of the feed as they struggle to manage milk flow. Breasts that feel full even after feeding. Reflux symptoms and an unsettled baby. Strategies such as laid back feeding, one side per feed feeding and block nursing can be used to help.
Whether by choice or necessity, partial or exclusive, pumping can be challenging. Having a pump that works well for you, a schedule that's manageable and a technique that maximises the amount you express each time can all help.
Concerns about allergies, tandem feeding, weaning from the breast, reducing top-ups, and more. I am happy to offer kind empathetic support as you navigate feeding your little one.

Anne was so supportive and helpful throughout my breastfeeding journey. She was patient and calm which helped me to relax as I fed my baby. She checked his positioning and gave me simple tips that made feeding him instantly so much more comfortable! It was amazing how just a few tweaks made such a big difference and I was no longer dreading each feed! She was professional and gave evidence based reasons for why we do things certain ways, but that was complimented by her down to earth and realistic approach. Thank you so much for all your help!
I cannot thank Anne enough for the exceptional care and support she has provided throughout my pregnancy. This journey hasn’t been easy as I’ve faced challenges and losses in the past, but I feel Anne has been there for me every step of the way. From the very beginning, she truly understood my fears and concerns and always approached them with compassion, patience, and a calm demeanor that helped me feel reassured.
Her advice has always been grounded in evidence-based information, from pregnancy guidance to breastfeeding support, which has given me the confidence I needed to make informed decisions. No question ever felt too small, and I always felt comfortable consulting her about any doubt I had. She consistently responded quickly and efficiently, offering guidance in a way that left me feeling supported and heard. Her professionalism is remarkable, but it’s her genuine kindness and empathy that have truly made a difference. I am deeply grateful to have had Anne on my way to become a mum, and I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking compassionate, knowledgeable, and dependable care.
